Based on recent reports, OpenAI is retiring the "chatgpt-4o-latest" model, with the final day for API access set for February 16, 2026.

API Shutdown: The specific API alias chatgpt-4o-latest is scheduled to be removed from the developer platform on February 16, 2026.
ChatGPT Interface: GPT-4o is expected to be removed from the ChatGPT interface around February 13, 2026.

This move follows a previous attempt to retire the model in August 2025, which was reversed due to user backlash. While the general GPT-4o variant might still see use, this date marks the end of the specific "latest" iteration in the API.
